Samuel Purcell
Occupational Therapist
Hello! I’m Sam, a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist who takes a holistic, client-centred approach to help children and teenagers participate in the activities they need, want, and are expected to do. My goal is to empower young people to live fulfilling and purposeful lives by building their skills, confidence, and independence in daily life.
I have worked with children and teenagers with varying diagnoses, including Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) and various mental health conditions. My services include:
- Ongoing occupational therapy (clinic & community-based)
- Initial assessments
- Sensory profile assessments & sensory diet reports
- Functional capacity assessments
- Comprehensive recommendations & reports
I bring diverse experience from both private practice and public health settings. My therapy approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and occupation-focused. I prioritise working closely with families, teachers, therapists, and other NDIS providers to ensure support is practical, evidence-based, and tailored to each child’s unique needs and interests. I believe in meeting clients where they are, building trust, and using creativity, play and curiosity to make therapy engaging and meaningful.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, going to the gym, watching the latest pop culture films/television shows and exploring new walking trails with my two dogs.
